What is a museum like? What kind of people work in a museum?
Following last year’s event, this summer we will hold another kids’ program, “Work Experience at the Art Museum!″
What is an art museum like? What kind of people work in an art museum? In this one-day program, children will experience various jobs at the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, including curator, guard, and security staff. Why don’t you take a peek behind the scenes of the museum through experiencing the work of various people who support the museum?
We are looking forward to receiving applications from everyone from 4th grade elementary school students to junior high school students!
- Date & Time: Saturday, August 3, morning session from 10:00 to around 12:30, afternoon session from 14:00 to around 16:30
- Place: Auditorium on the 1st floor, etc.
- Target: 4th grade elementary school students to junior high school students
- Capacity: Approx. 25 people per session (advance reservations required *Lottery will be held in case of oversubscription) *Closed
- Admission: Free
*A ticket is required if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
<Admission>
The accompanying parent/guardian must have a ticket to the exhibition. Parents or guardians of program participants may purchase tickets at the museum ticket counter at the group rate.
<Notes>
・There are dark rooms in the exhibition hall.
・Please be aware that some works are not in the display cases and are exhibited exposed.
・There are no restrooms in the exhibition rooms.
・The temperature in the exhibition rooms is kept constant to maintain the condition of the works. Visitors are advised to wear adjustable clothing as they may feel cold.
・There is no elevator at Exit 1 of Higashiyama Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway, which is the closest station to the museum. Visitors with baby strollers or wheelchairs may use Exit 2.
