Let’s go to a museum with your child for the first time or after a long time!

This is a special two-day event for those who find it difficult to take their children to museums because they are afraid of the eyes of others, or for those who would like to visit museums with their children. Enjoy our museum with your children in a relaxed atmosphere!

◼︎Drop-in MOMAT Tour, “Let’s explore the MOMAT!”

The museum staff will act as navigators for visitors to explore the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, with themes such as color and shape. This is a program to enjoy not only the exhibition rooms but the entire museum.

  • Date & Time: September 21 (Sat.) & 22 (Sun.) 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. (about 30 minutes each time)
  • Location: 2nd floor terrace aisle
  • Target: Children and their parents/guardians
  • Offered in Japanese language only
  • Admission: Free
    *Admission to the MOMAT Collection Exhibition is required for the accompanying adults and university students.

◼︎Drop-in Gallery Talks for Kids, “Let’s Talk the MOMAT Collection!”

Together with the museum’s guide staff (volunteers), we will look at the artworks carefully and talk about what we feel and think about them. Please feel free to join us on the spot, as we will start by talking to you in the exhibition room. Please enjoy the interaction with the artworks you encountered that day, the guide staff, and your fellow participants.

  • Date & Time:September 21 (Sat.) & 22 (Sun.) 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. (about 15 minutes each time)
  • Location: Various locations in the museum
  • Target: Ages 5 and up (please be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
  • Offered in Japanese language only

◼︎”FIND & BINGO!” Exploration material for kids

Find the things depicted in the bingo illustrations. Enjoy the museum by looking at the shapes and colors depicted in the works, the chairs and people you see in the exhibition rooms, and many other things.

  • Location: Distributed free of charge at the entrance hall on the 1st floor
  • Eligibility: Children and their parents/guardians
    *Admission to the MOMAT Collection Exhibition is required for the accompanying adults and university students.

・There are video works with sound in the exhibition hall.
・There are three-dimensional works in the venue.
・There are dimly lit rooms in the exhibition hall.
・The temperature in the exhibition rooms is kept at a constant level to maintain the condition of the works.
・The closest station to the museum is Takebashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line (Exit 1b), which is a 3-minute walk.There is no elevator at Exit 1b. If you are coming with a baby stroller or wheelchair, please refer to the “Obstruction-free Access” on the Access page.
